BIO INFORMATION:
Scott and Liane Grant were married in 1988 after graduating from Apostolic Missionary Institute in Oshawa, Ontario.
After assisting in two Ontario churches, they pioneered a church in Welland, a city near Niagara Falls with a
significant French population.
Scott and Liane have three sons, Josh (age 17), Jared (age 14) and Jonathan (age 11). Throughout their ministry, the
Grants have been actively involved in the Ontario District in worship, home missions, youth and children's ministries.
Five years ago, they launched a weekend Bible College in Welland, training students from various backgrounds. One
graduate has since returned to his home country of Zimbabwe, where he has baptized 35 people in Jesus' name.
Scott visited Montreal often as a child since his father was born there. Scott and Liane have developed their burden
fro French ministry by studying with French tutors and translating worship songs and training materials. That burden
has culminated in their recent appointment as Metro Missionaries to Montreal.
The team approach that the Grants have employed will be used to maximum effect as they move into the needy field
of Montreal. They are going into Quebec with a missionary heart, desiring to both plant churches and train laborers
for active ministry.
MONTREAL AREA INFORMATION:
A 365-year old island city on the St. Lawrence River.
There are 3.6 million people - 1/2 of Quebec's population; 66% are French speaking.
It is a multicultural city with a growing immigrant population.
They have the most university students per capita in North America.
There are four UPC churches - 1 for every 900,000 people.
RECENT UPDATE AS OF APRIL, 2008:
Since our last newsletter, we have traveled to churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Ontario and Quebec; from
the balmy south to the frozen north!
We were able to attend both the Ontario District Conference and the Quebec District Conference.
We are now heading to Tennessee; to Florida in April; Alabama in May; and Missouri in June.
MAY 2008 UPDATE:
To our prayer partners, financial partners and friends:
One month shy of a year! Time flies when you are having fun. Deputation started in June 2007 and since then our
family has been to 18 states and 3 provinces. Currently in Florida, we have encountered some awesome help, support
and fellowship along the way.
The word “partner” defined by Webster is one associated with another especially by action. Liane and I are so
thankful for those of you who are partnering with us in the work of Montreal. You have been active in this
partnership through your prayers and financial faithfulness and it means a whole lot.
This is a year of transition in many ways. We passed the baton of our first church plant last June. Joshua, our oldest
son, will graduate from grade 12 this spring; and Liane and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage this June. Wow, what
patience she has exhibited for so long!
Thanks again for coming alongside. Acting together, who knows what will be accomplished for eternity?
