PASTOR BIOGRAPHY
Pastor David Church, from Oshawa in Ontario, Canada, graduated in 1992
from Indiana Bible College in Indianapolis with an Associates Degree in Theology.
After graduating, he went back to Oshawa to teach and began preaching at the
Apostolic Missionary Institute, a small bible college that was a part of the church his
dad, Reverend B.J. Church, was pastor over. He journeyed back to Indianapolis in
1993 to marry his longtime girlfriend, Holly Frymier. Together, they lived in Oshawa
while Dave continued to teach at AMI. In 1994 they started traveling between
Oshawa and Indiana while Dave continued to work. They finally settled in
Chesterton, Indiana in 1995 and began attending the local UPC church, where he
later started home missions work under Pastor Jim Smith. He and Holly began their
family in 1996 with a precious baby girl they named Adriene. Joyfully, they added a
son, Davis, in 1999. The year 2002 brought even more delight with another son
born, Barrett, and later becoming the Pastor of the Chesterton church, New Life
Tabernacle, in December. God revealed another plan for Dave and Holly in October
of 2007 when they discovered they had also been elected as the new pastors of the
Valparaiso United Pentecostal Church, Christian Life Center! Dave is a
framer/contractor by trade and works throughout Northwest Indiana building
homes. He has also served as the framing contractor for several "church in a day"*
projects for the UPC organization throughout the U.S. and Canada.

*The North American Church-in-a-Day (CIAD) program is to assist small churches with their
church-building needs through their local district. The Church-in-a-Day Program is building (and
buying) in locations all across North America! The first Church-In-A-Day effort by the General Home
Missions Division was in Mineola, Texas in August of 1998. Since that time: 27 new church buildings have
been built, 24 existing church buildings have been purchased, 6 commercial buildings have been
purchased and renovated & 3 loans approved and waiting on building prerequisites.
