GOD:
We believe in ONE God and His Name is JESUS! We believe that God has revealed
Himself as Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4, 2 Corinthians 13:14,
John 10:30, John 14:9)
THE BIBLE:
We believe the Bible to be 100% true, containing within it no error or
contradictions.
It is the chief living authority in all of our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter
1:20-21)
THE GOSPEL:
We believe the Gospel to be the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus
Christ. We believe that when the Gospel is fused to our lives true
transformation occurs. (Acts 10:38-40; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4;
Colossians 2:9)
SALVATION: ACTS 2:38
We believe that all have sinned and are in need of the Savior. Jesus Christ is
that Savior and He gives us access to salvation by His death on the cross,
burial, and resurrection. Salvation is freely given to all who believe and live
out the New Testament experience of repentance, baptism in Jesus’ Name, and the
infilling of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:1-39;
10:40-48)
BAPTISM:
We believe in full immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, which signifies our
union with Him in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to
new life. (Acts 2:38, 19:1-7, 10:46-48, John
3:5)
TRANSFORMATION:
We believe that once you experience salvation through the Gospel,
transformation begins. God loves us too much to leave us the way we are. Once
you experience God, new life begins.
WORSHIP AND PRAYER:
We believe God created us for fellowship with Him and for worship of Him. We
believe worship is a lifestyle, not an event. We believe prayer connects us to
God, communicates our love for and total dependence on Him, and is our means of
intercession for our community. We believe both individual and group prayer are
vital parts of every Christian's lifestyle. (I Thess
5:17, Matt 21:22, Rom 12:1, 12:12, Col 4:2, I Chron 16:29, Psalm 66:4, 86:9,
John 4:23-24)
THE CHURCH:
We believe that the church is God’s Plan A for spreading the Gospel and loving
the loveless. We accomplish this through what we refer to as, "Reaching,
Teaching, and Serving."
HEALING:
During His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ "went about doing good, and
healing all that were oppressed of the devil." (Acts 10:38). The Lord
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8). He still heals all
who will call upon Him in faith, humility and obedience. In the church age the
prayer of faith still saves (or heals) the sick. (James
5:15).
COMMUNITY:
We believe that sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is more than just preaching
from a pulpit. We're committed to reaching out and helping the communities of
Valparaiso. We strive to be a church that meets people where they are in their
life, and do everything we can to equip them with the tools necessary
to
maintain a healthy Christian walk.
